Christ. Arise Events Ministries seeks to be a light in the darkness by creating spaces where people encounter God, experience community, and are equipped to live out their faith through service, worship, and discipleship.
How to Qualify
REFERRAL-BASED SYSTEM
Nominate individuals who don’t usually get celebrated (ex: a homeless child’s birthday, an adult getting their GED, someone finishing a recovery program).
SELF-NOMINATION
We have a simple form to fill out and our board will
review them monthly.
OTHER QUALIFIERS
Honorees must be: Receiving SNAP/EBT, Medicaid, or housing assistance, or Referred by a nonprofit, organization, shelter, or church.

Our Reason
Hi, I’m Lizzy Pennington, Founder of Arise Events. I’ve always been the type to go all out for parties and celebrations — extra in the best way possible! A few years ago, God placed a vision on my heart. At first, I thought it was a business idea, but it quickly became something much bigger — a ministry. Our mission is to bring joy to those in need, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds, the homeless, or anyone who has never felt truly celebrated. Whether it’s a birthday, graduation, wedding, or just another day of life, every person deserves to be celebrated.
In doing so, our hope is that people experience the love of Jesus — whether or not they believe in Him. We want them to feel that unconditional love that transcends everything. And through that we hope they will eventually KNOW HIM.
Our heart is to serve everyone — regardless of their age, race, or background — because Jesus doesn’t
discriminate. We are all a Child of God.

Lizzy Pennington
Lizzy Pennington is the President of Arise Events Ministries, leading with a deep love for Jesus and a passion for people. Her heart is rooted in a desire to see every person not only celebrated here on earth, but ultimately saved and spending eternity with Him. Lizzy is committed to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and included— reflecting the joy, hope, and love found in Christ through every event Arise hosts.
Bryla Burt
Bryla Burt serves as the Vice President of Arise Events Ministries, bringing a thoughtful and servant-hearted approach to every aspect of her work. Known for her strength and deep care for others, Bryla plays a key role in creating events that reflect the organization’s mission of celebrating every individual. Her dedication ensures that each detail is handled with compassion, excellence, and purpose.
Brooke Farris
Brooke Farris serves as the Treasurer of Arise Events Ministries, where she brings clarity, integrity, and care to the organization’s financial stewardship. With a steady hand and a heart for service, Brooke ensures that every dollar is used purposefully to support Arise’s mission of celebrating others. Her attention to detail and commitment to transparency help keep the organization grounded and growing.
Christi Opiela
Christi Opiela is the Secretary and Grant Writer for Arise Events Ministries, where she uses her strong communication skills and deep care for others to help bring the organization’s mission to life. Christi is passionate about sharing stories that matter and securing the resources needed to make every celebration possible. Her thoughtful approach and behind-the-scenes dedication make her an essential part of the Arise team.
Deborah Rendon
Deborah Rendon leads Public Relations for Arise Events Ministries, using her creativity and heart for people to share the organization’s mission with the wider community. With a natural talent for connection and communication, Deborah helps amplify the stories and impact of Arise, ensuring that every voice is heard and every celebration is seen. Her warmth and authenticity shine through in everything she does.
Cheyenne Nobles
Cheyenne Nobles serves as a Board Chair for Arise Events Ministries, where her passion for spreading the gospel and loving people well is at the heart of everything she does. Driven by a desire to make every person feel included, valued, and celebrated, Cheyenne brings both spiritual depth and compassionate leadership to the team. Her commitment to reflecting Christ’s love in tangible ways helps shape the welcoming, joy-filled atmosphere that defines Arise Events Ministries.
Rachel Conrad
Rachel Conrad serves as the Chair of the Board and Photographer for Arise Events Ministries, combining leadership and creativity to help capture the heart of the organization. With an eye for beauty and a passion for people, Rachel documents each moment with purpose—highlighting the joy, dignity, and celebration at the core of every event. Her steady guidance and artistic vision help Arise stay true to its mission and message.

We are limited to the amount of events we can do per month based on availability and funds from our generous donors. Please understand we will do our best to accommodate and celebrate everyone, however we might have to decline based on extenuating circumstances.
